Audi launched their BMW M5 challenger at the recent Geneva Motor Show. Dubbed the RS6, this special Audi is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine equipped with a new active damping system.

The four-wheel drive RS6 is fitted with the company's new five-speed Tiptronic transmission that receives a dynamic sport program--something that will enable the car to hang on to a gear for longer under hard acceleration and permit swifter downshifts. The RS6 gets steering wheel mounted controls as well. There is no manual option.

The car has a massive torque rating of 572 Nm of torque at below 2,000 rpm! This means that the RS6 will reach 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds and reach 200 km/h in around 18 seconds! The car also employs new and clever 'floating' brake discs developed by Quattro GmbH.

The RS6 will also be fitted with Dynamic Ride Control, a mechanical active damping system that helps eliminate rolling and pitching during hard driving via regulating the flow of oil in the dampers by connecting it using a central valve.

Another BMW M5 competitor was unveiled at the show: the Jaguar S Type R.
