You probably saw it, but didn't know what
it was...yes it's the 2002 Ford Lynx. The photos below are taken as
motioncars.com spied on a test unit of the heavily revised (all-new?)
Ford Lynx driven around the streets of Manila. Taken on February 3 2002, it is very evident that Ford took great lengths to make sure their mainstream challenger could stand the test of Philippine roads. These test units did more than 1,000 kilometers already of production-oriented testing making sure that every possible defect is addressed before being made available to the public. As a result, the badges have all been covered up. However, what is for certain, is that now, the 2003 Ford Lynx will be made available by March 31 2002! You don't have to wait that long to check out the new car. As a side note, the 2002 Ford Lynx will also be exported to other ASEAN countries in the coming months through the Ford Export Program (details coming Friday). This makes sure that safety, emissions and quality all meet ASEAN standards. The Lynx will be exported to countries such as Thailand and Indonesia with plans to expand the line to include Malaysia and Taiwan as well.
