After receiving accolades for their new
Modeo executive car in Europe, Ford is ready to push the envelope
further. At the Geneva Motor Show, the Detroit-based company unveiled a
performance version of the Mondeo, dubbed the Mondeo ST220. Described as a "grand touring car with spirited driving quality", the ST220 is powered by a 226-bhp Duratec ST 3.0-liter 24-valve V6. It powers the Mondeo from 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 243 km/h. Outside, it sports a modified bumpers that incorporate bigger air intakes, a discreet rear spoiler, twin exhaust tips and 18-inch alloys.
