After giving a taste of the Mazda 6 in sedan and hatchback forms at the Detroit Motorshow, Mazda has unveiled a wagon version of their new mid-sized car, simply called 6.

At the heart of the 6 is a power plant that will help Mazda battle European marques. It boasts four-cylinder petrol to two common-rail diesel engines with outputs ranging from 120-166 bhp.

The saloon will be produced in Europe at the end of their spring season and the estate (wagon) will follow a bit later.

The 6 will also carry a new range of safety equipment as standard including six airbags.
