If Ford Philippines unveiled their Ranger SVT Pinatubo Edition II, Mitsubishi Motors likewise did the same by unveiling their fully-accessorized version of the best-selling Strada compact pick-up. Dubbed 'Cross Country Edition' this vehicle promises to bridge the gap between a recreational vehicle (RV) and a pick-up.

The Cross Country boasts of factory-installed accessories such as pick-up bed canopy with side pop-out windows, a rear spoiler with integrated third brake lamp, a rear window defogger and a rear bed cushion is available as an option.

Besides the additions to the Strada's back-end, the Cross Country receives fender flares, a sporty new fender, a front bumper with overrider, chromed rear tail lamp garnish and newly designed step boards.

Inside, the Cross Country receives a boost from a modern array of accessories, putting it at par with the Frontier Pleasure Series. The Cross Country has leather seats, a four spoke leather steering wheel, upgraded trim material, a single CD player with a 6-speaker system and MMAS keyless entry and anti-theft system.

Of course, like all Stradas, this one comes with the usual styling cues such as: hood air intake scoop, 15-inch 5-spoke aluminum alloys with 31.0 x 10.5 R 15 tires as standard and a two-tone finish. The Cross Country is still powered by Mitsubishi's 2.5-liter turbo-diesel engine that is good for 100 ps at 4,200 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm.

The Strada Cross Country Edition comes in two colors: red and black and is available at all Mitsubishi dealers nationwide. The price? A reasonable PHP 1,130,000 since only a limited run of 90 units is available.
