Toyota to Battle Americans Head-On with New Texas Plant

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) is about to take their American assault to the next level with the announcement for a full-sized pick-up production plant in San Antonio, Texas.

The announcement comes just months after TMC announced a vehicle production plant in Tijuana, Mexico. With the announcement of the new Texan plant, it marks Toyota's sixth North American assembly and manufacturing plant.

The new plant is expected to bring out 150,000 Tundra pick-up trucks annually a year starting 2006. Reportedly, TMC's investment in the new plant is USD 800 million and will employ about 2,000 people.
