As part of its corporate social responsibility, Motolite recently donated automotive batteries for the two fire trucks of the Sampaloc Volunteer Fire Brigade (SVFB), based in Sampaloc, Manila. Affiliated with the Central Communication Group Fire Control Center, the SVFB is composed of community volunteers students, businessmen and professionals who, aside from rendering community service also pay monthly dues to generate funds for their fire brigade. Although the SVFB is primarily based in the Sampaloc area in Manila, they have deployed their fire trucks to the provinces as far as Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija and Laguna. They have gone as far as Masbate to help in rescue operations. In accepting the donation, fire chief Vicente Mirador, noted: One of the most critical elements in our work is our quick-response to emergencies. With Motolite batteries powering our fire trucks, we can be sure that our fire trucks are always prepared for any emergencies. The Motolite Truckmaster is a specially-designed battery that provides the power requirements of trucks and other heavy equipment applications. It is built tough to withstand extreme heat and vibration. Motolite is the leading brand of automotive batteries in the Philippines. Its manufacturer, Philippine Batteries Inc (PBI), is the largest manufacturer, exporter and distributor of automotive, industrial, valve-regulated and motorcycle battery products in the country. The company exports Motolite Batteries to the United States, Australia, Europe, Middle East and the rest of Asia. |
