| A visit to Las Vegas would not be complete
without a side trip to the Imperial Palace Hotel's Car Museum. Admittedly,
I was reluctant to visit since it contained only vintage cars, and I'm
not really a fan of older cars. Also, the Museum was located in a
distant corner of one of the Strip's shabbiest-looking hotels.
But after seeing the cars: I was so glad I went! I discovered anew that the past is prologue, and I gained a new appreciation of today's cars after seeing their predecessors. You think 18" or 19" wheels are new developments? You'll change your mind after seeing the huge wheels on these babies. Though you have to see the cars for yourselves, here is a small motioncars
preview.

| A large collection of some interesting cars--that's the Imperial Palace Musuem. This shot only shows barely a third of what's on display. This is Vegas, so, as the sign says, they're all for sale. | Does this look a Grand Prix car to you? It should, if the year is 1914. That's when this Mercedes-Benz 50 hp tourer took 1-2-3 at the French Grand Prix, boosting Merc's credibility and sales. Note the acetylene-gas headlalmps. |
